A coffee shake with peanut butter is welcome anytime, especially on warm summer days when you feel the need of a refreshing-cold drink. It’s delicious, you can make it in like 1 minute and it can become your new treat in the morning instead of the classic coffee.
I am not a coffee lover, you can rarely see me drinking it, I just don’t feel the need in the morning or at any other time of the day to drink a cup of coffe. I work perfectly and without it and in the morning for energery I rather prefer a smoothie made with fruits and vegetables. I gave yet a chance to coffee and I’ve been experienced and tested a coffee shake recipe until I came to this result: with peanut butter, oats for creaminess, banana to sweeten it, but also for creaminess and cocoa to enhance the taste.
If you’re that kind of person who doesn’t like coffee or don’t use to drink it so often, then I recommend you this coffee shake with peanut butter, which you will surely like. You can still feel the taste of the coffee, but it is easily covered by the other ingredients.
This coffee shake with peanut butter:
- has a super delicious taste
- is a pretty nourishing drink
- can replace your breakfast when you’re late in the morning
- can be a pre-workout shake (it has protein and carbs, which are a good combo for a pre-workout shake)
- has about 300 kcal, so I recommend you to pay attention to the quantity (I prefer to drink it before I go to the gym because it gives me the energy for the effort I’m going to do)
- I recommend you drink it in the first part of the day, but if you feel the need for a energy boost, you can drink it in the afternoon instead of a snack
For this recipe you need something essential in a kitchen, and that is, a blender. Then you can get to work!
INGREDIENTS (for one serving)
120 ml. coffee
120 ml. milk (unsweetened vegan milk or dairy milk)
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1 teaspoon of cocoa
2 tablespoons of oats (15-25 gr.) – optional, but make the shake more creamy
1 teaspoon of rum essence + 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional or just one of this two)
First, make a normal coffee, put 120 ml. of coffee in a glass, then let it cool completely.
Once the coffee has cooled down, add in a blender the ingredients listed above: banana, cocoa, peanut butter, oats, then put the coffee, milk and those two essences.
Turn on the blender and mix the ingredients for 10-15 seconds until everything turns into a creamy drink.
If you do the shake and want to drink it right away, I recommend you to also add 2-3 ice cubes. I usually make it the night before, put it in a smoothie jar, leave it in the refrigerator, and the next morning it’s good to drink.
If you don’t have or don’t like peanut butter, you can skip it. The first time I’ve tested the recipe I didn’t add peanut butter, but only after the third test. The shake is just as good without it, but I added it because I’d put peanut butter in almost everything, that’s how much I like it.
How about trying a coffee shake with peanut butter tomorrow instead of your regular-boring coffee?
