A smoothie is always welcome, because it gives me the opportunity to add vegetables, fruits, proteins (greek yogurt, seeds, nuts, protein powders, etc.) to a drink from which I can take all the nutrients that the body needs. In addition, such a smoothie can easily be transformed into a main meal (breakfast) or a snack between main meals.
Recently I tried a smoothie with apple and orange to which I added the Vegan-Detox Smoothie Meal Balance from Life Care, a mix of organic turmeric, psyllium, flaxseed, inulin, cumin, coriander and ginger, which in combination with your favorite fruits and vegetables, results a delicious smoothie.
As this powder is recommended in detoxification process, one of which I need after four months in the US where I had a chaotic diet, I said it was time to give a restart to my body and to drink at least 3 times a week a detoxifying smoothie.
Here’ my choice:
2 tablespoons of Vegan-Detox Smoothie Meal Balance
2 medium apples
1 big orange
a few leaves of mint
a little bit of fresh ginger
I took out the peel from the apples and the orange, then I put the fruits in a blender, along with the mint leaves, the grated ginger and 2 tablespoons of detox powder.
I added water as much as I thought it was needed to have a creamy smoothie and I let all the ingredients to mix in the blender for a few seconds.
The ingredients from the detox powder have a subtle taste and they give a very good taste and parfume to this smoothie. I will certainly try this detox powder into another combination of smoothie.
The role of detox smoothies is to cleanse the body of toxins, to detoxify the colon. They don’t have a role of slimming! It really helps in the process of slimming, but you have to have an active lifestyle and a balanced diet.
