If you do remember my unboxing products from Orthomolecular Pharmacy , then you must remember and that I promised to make the millet pudding recipe, which is one of my favorites.
Millet is a pseudo-cereal, which I’m sure few people use it in their diet. It is known more as food for birds, but I think the followers of a healthy lifestyle know of the benefits of this grain and use it in different preparations. Millet does not contain gluten, it has many minerals and vitamins, it is easy to digest, is a good source of fiber and vegetable protein, which your body needs to function properly.
Millet pudding recipe is extremely easy to make, tasty and nourishing, perfect for breakfast or as a guilt free dessert. The texture of this pudding it’s quite similar to semolina pudding .
Millet can be used in salads, instead of rice with a piece of meat or vegetables, soups (make the soup more consistent and dense), the seeds can be transformed into flour can be used in various recipes: biscuits, pancakes , buns, etc.
Are you curious how I made this my pudding?
Ingredients (2 servings)
150 gr. millet seeds
450 ml. water
200 ml. vegan milk or normal
Agave syrup to sweeten
Fruit of your choice: bananas, kiwi, apples, berries
Bring water to a boil, then add millet seeds and let them boil on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Millet seeds absorb the water very quickly, so you have to be careful to add more water if needed.
As you saw, I didn’t add sugar. It is strictly my choice, if you want you can add 2-3 tablespoons or as many as you prefer.
After the millet seeds are cooked, turn off the fire and gradually add 200 ml. milk and mix. Using a vertical blender, blend the composition until it takes the form of a pudding. If you need extra milk, you can add depending on how you want the texture of this pudding to be. I’ve add half a banana to sweeten the pudding.
Put it in a bowl, add on top fruit of your choice (I used bananas and kiwi)) and agave syrup (or honey).
It is very delicious and extremely nourishing!
